Ezra graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)(Hons) from the University of Manchester in 2015. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Social Psychology and Counselling (Grad.DipPsy) with an overall distinction and a Professional Diploma in Applied Psychology from the National University of Singapore (NUS)(ext). In 2019, Ezra also attended at the Singapore Polytechnic for a Specialist Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology and has since obtained a certificate of completion for the first semester. 

 

Before founding Deansgate Barakah Law Corporation, Ezra joined Arul Chew & Partners(“ACP”) in 2012 as an intern and remained with the firm for his relevant legal training and practice training contract ending mid-2016. He was called to the Singapore bar in May 2017. Upon being called to the bar, Ezra joined a medium-size law firm as an associate before moving back with Arul Chew & Partners. He was involved in and assisted primarily in the practice areas of commercial/general litigation and corporate advisory.

 

Ezra serves a diverse array of clientele and has assisted and advised clients on many legal issues including but not limited to, breach of confidentiality and trade secrets, defamation, enforcing judgment debts, breach of contract (commercial and private contracts), employment law, bankruptcy proceedings, Syari'ah law in relation to matrimonial proceedings and estate matters(contentious/non-contentious probate) including advising on Muslim estate based on Faraid, company law, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.

Currently, besides practicing the law, Ezra is a Master's degree (research)(Syari'ah Islamic Studies) candidate, University of Malaya. He is also teaching as an Associate faculty (Public Safety and Security programme) at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) with a focus in Singapore Legal System.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to symphonic music (he played the French Horn in secondary school) preferably while basking under the hot sun, enjoying nature at its best.
